JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Police are reminding the public of two important observances in the month of October. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To raise awareness for breast cancer and domestic violence, Jeffersonville Police cars now have pink and purple ribbons on them. It is estimated that one in eight women in America will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. This year alone, it's estimated that 297,790 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
